Known for his whimsical, hand-sculpted designs commissioned by the likes of Mugler, New Power Studio, Cassette Playa, 2NE1, and more, Dutch artist Rein Vollenga has officially launched his first collection of Wearable Sculptures. “My debut collection is not made for a specific season,” Vollenga says of the pieces, which boast shapes inspired by the anatomy of insects and car parts, merging ideas of the natural world with the highly artificial. The result is something bred between 3D oil slicks, alien exoskeletal armor, and tribal filigree. For more images, see below.
